Hi, I’m Michelle, and I like color.
and art supplies. I recently joined the freshman class of the old people and needed a time sink as I retire from my role as a stay-at-home mom. At the same time, while my daughter and I were pondering activities we could do together before she goes off to college, we decided on a pottery class. I can see every potter everywhere nod: It starts small, and the next thing you know, you’ve plowed your retirement plan into a kiln.
I am learning as I go and loving every moment of it. This is how you will know your piece is made with love and wonder: I even get zen about cleaning the wheel after a throwing session. currently, my studio is my kids’ outgrown treehouse, shown on the front page of this site. It’s perfect. I can play with clay while I hear birds, look out over the garden, and occasionally chat with the ladybugs/ladybirds that seem to enjoy my company.
Please click my instagram link and follow along as I jump with both feet into the pottery world of patience and striving to give up perfection.
Be well,
-m
